What do I do if I have Windows Media Player installed, but nothing plays?
- Windows XP
- Windows Vista
If you have Windows Media Player installed but do not hear anything when you press Play, you may not have the file types set up properly. You can fix this by associating MIDI files with Windows Media Player using the Default Programs control.
- Go to Start > Control Panel, then run the Default Programs control.
- Choose the item "Associate a file type or protocol with a program".
- Select the .midi (MIDI/MIDI Sequence) file extension.
- Click Change program..., then choose Windows Media Player and click OK.
- Close the windows.
If you still experience problems, install the latest version of Windows Media Player.
